Enauta Starts Anchoring Campaign for FPSO Atlanta

Scana's Seasystems to Deliver Mooring Equipment for Offshore Project in West Africa

Norwegian company Scana said Monday that its subsidiary Seasystems had signed a sizeable contract for the delivery of an anchoring system to an FSO project offshore West Africa."This is a sizeable contract for Scana, valued close to NOK 50 million [currently around $4,8 million]," Scana said.Under the contract, with an unnamed client, Seasystems will deliver mooring equipment such as dual-axis chain stoppers and chain handling systems. Maersk Supply Service Pens Major Contract for FPSO Work in Brazil

Danish offshore vessel owner Maersk Supply Service said Thursday it had signed an assignment agreement with TechnipFMC for work in Brazil.The scope covers the pre-installation of the mooring system and hook-up of the FPSO P-78. POSH Buys Boa Deep C Offshore Construction Vessel

Singapore-based offshore energy services provider PACC Offshore Services Holdings (“POSH”) has agreed to buy the 119-meter long, DP-3 offshore construction vessel ‘BOA Deep C’ from Norway's BOA OCV AS. The vessel will be renamed ‘POSH Deep C’ and will join the POSH fleet in October 2022. Bardex Mooring Tensioning System Installed in GOM

BP’s latest floating production facility, ARGOS, has been successfully moored in the US Gulf of Mexico. The mooring tensioning system includes Bardex Corporation Chain Jacks used to haul in and tighten 12 lines of 171mm R4S top chain. Bardex mooring chain jacks were the first to be used for deep water floating production units since the early 1990s.

Scana's Seasystems to Deliver Anchoring System for Brazil-bound FPSO

Scana's subsidiary Seasystems, previously known as Scana Offshore, has received a letter of intent to deliver an anchoring system for a Brazil-bound FPSO.The delivery consists of anchoring equipment such as chain stops, jacks, and winches.Scana said that the FPSO for the project would be rebuilt in Asia, with the integration of the mooring system carried out in the Asian shipyards.Scana said this was a large contract, meaning it is worth over 40 million crowns (around $4,46 million.

ABS Grants AiP for Samsung's FLNG Spread Mooring System

The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) has awarded Approval in Principle (AIP) to Samsung Heavy Industries’ (SHI) design for a one-side spread mooring system for a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility.The system developed by SHI allows an FLNG to be safely spread moored on one side, enabling LNG carriers to berth and load on the opposite side free from obstructions, ABS said."With more than 150 floating oil and gas facilities in the ABS-classed fleet, ABS is the market leader in classification of offshore production units, which includes FLNG assets.

Lankhorst Offshore reports it has been awarded a contract by SBM Offshore to supply the deepwater mooring lines for the Liza Unity Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) for ExxonMobil’s Liza oil field offshore Guyana, South America. This follows the deployment of Lankhorst mooring lines for the Liza Destiny FPSO mooring system also in the Liza field.The Liza Unity FPSO, based on SBM Offshore’s Fast4Ward FPSO design, will be spread moored at a water depth of 1,600m with 20 Cabral 512 deepwater mooring lines with a minimum breaking strength of 12,300 kN.

MSC Approves Mooring Measures

The International Maritime Organization (IMO)'s Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) has approved measures to improve the safety for seafarers when mooring ships.Danish Maritime Authority (DMA) said in a press release that between 5 and 14 June, MSC met in London to discuss current issues related to the safety and security of global shipping.Part of the agenda was dedicated to the draft measures for safe mooring operations as prepared by the SDC sub-committee based on proposals originally submitted by Denmark.The measures approved by the Committee entails an amended SOLAS regulation and guidelines intended to improve the current situation…
